The Psychology Student Blog is just one of the great things that the DSC runs (maybe we are a little biased)! But did you know it didn't always look this way? The original blog was founded by Maddie Fellows, a psychology student, in 2022. The current blog coordinators got a chance to speak with her, and hear her inspiration for the blog.
Maddie: Hello psychology students! My name is Maddie Fellows and I’m a fifth year student at Queen’s this year. As part of my membership in the psychology department student council last year, I was inspired to create this student blog. I envisioned the blog as an outlet for psychology students to discuss mental health, their experiences in the major, and what it’s like to be a student at Queen’s. I haven’t had the most traditional nor seamless journey to the psychology major, but I couldn’t be happier to be in it now, and I wanted other students to know that fighting for what you are passionate about is worth it. I am sure that like me, there are psychology students with stories to share: stories that might help even just one other student feel understood during this transitional time of our budding adulthood. I hope somewhere in this blog you find a story that makes you feel seen. Welcome to the Psychology DSC Blog!
