It’s a common phenomenon that happens to the best of us. Here at the DSC, we can’t slow down time, but we can give you some advice on how to make the most of the 2022-23 school year!
The Psychology Department Student Council is a group of Queen’s psychology students that are here for you, Queen’s Psychology students. Throughout the year the DSC meets weekly to plan events to support and enhance your experience. This semester is well underway, but the school year is far from over and the DSC has lots of events and initiatives coming your way! Interested in Meeting Your Professors (and friends)? After a long 2 years of online and hybrid classes, Drinks with Profs and Open Mic Night offer 2 amazing opportunities to meet professors you’ve only seen through a screen, and classmates whose names look familiar from discussion posts.
Looking for a Volunteer Opportunity? In March, the DSC will be hosting Brain Day, an annual event teaching young children about the importance of keeping their brains safe. Keep an eye out for volunteer applications!
Wondering What It’s Like to Work in a Lab? Take one of the many lab classes offered here at Queen’s to get a feel for how research is done in psychology. A great option for the winter includes PSYC 315: Analysis of Psychological Signals!
Want to Rep Some Psych Merch? Queen’s Psychology Merch will be dropping very soon and will be available for you to order! Merchandise includes sweaters and tote bags. The DSC will be selling stickers at our Mental Wellness Booth in December. Come pick some up and rep your department!
